Wonton Filling:
- 8 ounces ground pork
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
Broth:
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, whole
- 2 slices ginger, approximately 1/4 inch thick
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions:
Wontons:
- In a large bowl, combine all the filling ingredients.
- Place 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold in half to create a triangle. Moisten the two longer tips and bring them together, pressing firmly to seal.
- Dip the bottom of the wonton in flour and place on a parchment-lined pan. Repeat with the remaining wontons.
Soup:
- In a large pot, bring all the broth ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove the whole garlic cloves and ginger slices, and discard.
- Add the wontons into the simmering broth and cook for 4-6 minutes, or until the pork in the wontons is cooked through.
