Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club is a book discussion club segment of the American talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, highlighting books chosen by host Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey started the book club in 1996, selecting a new book, usually a novel, for viewers to read and discuss each month. The club became such a popular feature of the show that it was eventually featured on its own website.
Some of the books that have been selected as part of Oprah’s Book Club include:
“The Color Purple” by Alice Walker
“Song of Solomon” by Toni Morrison
“The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay” by Michael Chabon
“Love in the Time of Cholera” by Gabriel García Márquez
“Middlesex” by Jeffrey Eugenides
“The Road” by Cormac McCarthy
“A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” by Eckhart Tolle
“The Help” by Kathryn Stockett
“Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail” by Cheryl Strayed
“An American Marriage” by Tayari Jones
These are just a few examples of the many books that have been featured as part of Oprah’s Book Club.
