Basic Hot Cocoa Mix Recipe
- 2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chip (can use regular size)
- 1/2 cup powdered nondairy creamer
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- mini marshmallows to float on top
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Keep in an airtight container.
To prepare the mix, spoon 4 generous tablespoons of cocoa mix into your cup. Add boiling water and mix well. Top with mini marshmallows.
Hot Cocoa Mix Variations
Minty Hot Cocoa
Substitute 1/2 cup of Andes Mint Baking Chips for the semisweet chocolate chips. Top with crushed candy canes instead of mini marshmallows if they’re in season.
Substitute 1/2 cup of vanilla baking chips for the semisweet chocolate chips. Add 2 tsp. of cream of tarter, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of nutmeg to the basic mix.
Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cocoa
Substitute 1/2 cup of peanut butter baking chips for the semisweet chocolate chips.
Substitute 1/2 cup of pumpkin spice non-dairy creamer for the regular non-dairy creamer.
